Traditional crafts and monuments on a Commemorative Banknote – discover the Our Towns edition!
We are building on the previous successful Our Zoo project and in cooperation with CULLINAN we offer you new Commemorative Banknotes titled Our Towns. The aim of the new issue with the motto “The world is changing, but values remain unchanged” is to remember the importance of the towns of the region through traditional crafts and their cultural contribution not only within the region. The first issue is dedicated to six towns of the Liberec Region: Liberec, Jablonec nad Nisou, Česká Lípa, Frýdlant, Turnov and Nový Bor.
The Commemorative Banknotes were designed by artists under the leadership of academic sculptor and painter Majka Wichnerová. Their aim was to create a view of individual towns from the perspective of the whole country, to show traditional crafts and architecture specific to a given place, and not only from the local residents’ point of view. The result is an artistically and ideologically rich collection of drawings and compositions.
The Commemorative Banknotes can be purchased individually or in a set with the same number. On the STC e-shop we offer the first 50-100 pieces from each town and 300 sets in which all Commemorative Banknotes have the same numbering. The set includes a voucher to reserve the same number in future issues, thus guaranteeing the continuity of the collector’s collection. In the future, it is planned to extend the issues to include other towns and districts, including interested villages.
Technical specification of the Commemorative Banknote:
Format: 146 x 69 mm
Paper: security paper, with linden leaves watermark, 110 g/m² and with security double fibres (visible blue with blue fluorescent and invisible with green fluorescence under UV light)
Printing technique: offset, digital printing, hot stamping
Face colours: offset 5 colours (including 1 iridescent print and 1 UV colour), digital printing, gold metallic foil hot stamping
Reverse colours: offset 5 colours (including 1 iridescent print and 1 UV colour), digital printing,
Protective elements: security paper with watermark and security fibres, guilloche, security rasters, microtext, iridescent print, UV-visible colours
