A New Commemorative Banknote for October

The commemorative banknote with a motif of porcelain figures called “Stallions and Mare” by Jaroslav Ježek is the fruit of close cooperation between the STÁTNÍ TISKÁRNA CENIN (State Printing Works for Securities) and the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. STC has prepared and printed the commemorative banknote according to a design by student Tuan Vuong Trong, who has used motifs of Czech applied art as a way of presenting national wealth. The commemorative banknote presents a work by industrial designer Jaroslav Ježek and his figure sculptures, which were a success at the EXPO 58 World’s Fair in Brussels. The reverse side of the note contains motifs from a cover of the book “The Sorrows of Old Werther” by Konstantin Fedin, which was designed by Czech painter, illustrator and graphic artist Radim Malát.

The commemorative note will be available for purchase STC e-shop from 1 October 2020 on its own, or in a gift cover, in folders with a transparent (PVC) pocket for placing printed materials. Thanks to the use of high-quality graphical paper with a grammage of 300 g/m2 in the dark green Keaykolour Original Holly colour and intaglio printing technology, your purchased product will become an original and exceptional gift for your loved ones or business partners.
