we want to inform you about the upcoming end of the exemption for cigars and other tobacco products without an identifier!
Tobacco products other than cigarettes and tobacco for hand-rolling cigarettes that were manufactured in the EU or imported into the EU before 20.5.2026 may remain in free circulation until 20.5.2026.
Tobacco products not marked with a unique identifier will not be allowed to remain in free circulation after May 20, 2026. This means that they will have to be withdrawn from the market and destroyed. Without a unique identifier, they will also not be allowed to be exported outside the EU.
One option is to export these tobacco products to a third country before 20.5.2026.
