The European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDIW) is a digital tool that allows EU citizens to securely store and manage their personal data, documents and certificates in digital form. It can take the form of a mobile app or a web app in the cloud. This tool will make it easier for citizens to prove their identity both online and in person, when dealing with authorities as well as with private companies across the EU. The implementation of the EUDIW follows from Regulation (EU) 2024/1183 of the European Parliament and of the Council and the responsibility for its implementation in the Czech Republic lies with the Digital and Information Agency (DIA). STC participates in the implementation of this project in cooperation with the DIA, discussing the possibilities of its involvement in the EUDIW ecosystem, especially in the area of the initial issuance of the digital identity of the wallet holder (so called – „on boarding“).
