About M. R. \u0160tef\u00e1nik:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Milan Rastislav \u0160tef\u00e1nik<\/strong>\u00a0(21 July 1880 \u2013 4 May. 1919) was a\u00a0prominent Slovak politician, soldier, aviator, and general of the French army,\u00a0an astronomer<\/a>\u00a0and meteorologist.<\/p>\n

In 1914-1918, he organised \u00a0Czechoslovak Legions in Serbia, Romania, Russia and Italy. He was a\u00a0member of the National Council in Paris and, between 1918 and 1919, Czechoslovak Minister of Military Affairs. Together with Tom\u00e1\u0161 Garrigue Masaryk and Edvard Bene\u0161, he is considered the founder of Czechoslovakia. He died in a\u00a0plane crash while returning to his homeland.
