All the impatient collectors and general public have been waiting for this. On 18 November, we will begin selling the Commemorative banknote featuring a portrait of V\u00e1clav Havel at the STC<\/strong> e-shop. The selling price is CZK 2,990, inclusive of VAT. As there is unprecedented interest and availability is limited, we have had to restrict the quantity to only 1 Commemorative banknote per purchase.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the death of the country\u2019s first post-revolution president V\u00e1clav Havel. To commemorate this occasion, the company \u010cesk\u00e9 duk\u00e1ty s.r.o. has decided to issue a\u00a0commemorative banknote featuring a\u00a0portrait of V\u00e1clav Havel<\/strong>\u00a0created by painter Eva Ha\u0161kov\u00e1. We are proud that the company has chosen us, the State Printing Works of Securities (STC), to print the notes.<\/p>\n

The main motif on the obverse side of the banknote is a portrait of V\u00e1clav Havel and the south wing of Prague Castle with the presidential balcony. The reverse side features a depiction of the Matthias Gate at Prague Castle and the sculptures of the Wrestling Titans. The banknote is printed on security paper with a linden leaf watermark with cotton fibre. Intaglio printing has been used for the portrait of V\u00e1clav Havel, the text on the obverse side, and the Czech lion registration mark. UV light will reveal other motifs typical for V\u00e1clav Havel on both the obverse and reverse sides.<\/p>\n

The gift box of the \u201cCommemorative Banknote\u201d, which is included in the offer, is made of high-quality 240 g\/m2<\/sup> graphical paper.<\/p>\n

The banknote is a limited edition issued in five series, A, B, C, D and E, with 500 sequentially numbered notes in each.\u00a0Series H comes exclusively in a set with a medal (gold, silver or bronze) designed by Ji\u0159\u00ed Harcuba.<\/p>\n

The STC e-shop will offer a total of 100 notes with serial numbers in the following sequences:<\/p>\n

A01 000480 \u2013 A01 000500
\nB01 000980 \u2013 B01 001000
\nC01 001480 \u2013 C01 001500
\nD01 001980 \u2013 D01 002000
\nE01 002480 \u2013 E01 002500<\/p>\n

Series H comes exclusively in a set with a medal (gold, silver or bronze) designed by legendary glassmaker and medallist Ji\u0159\u00ed Harcuba from 1995. A total of 300 medals with a diameter of 65 mm have been produced. The medal and banknote in a set have the same serial number.
